6th International Seminar on Aerogels

6th International Seminar on Aerogels – Hamburg, Germany

An presentation was given by Steve De Pooter, titled Aerobel: manufacturer of innovative insulation technologies via vertical integration, featuring the Carbip project.

The aerogel community invites scientists, engineers, students, and industrial partners working with or interested in learning about aerogels to the premiere international conference on the subject. Organized by the TUHH hosted by Prof. Irina Smirnova and Prof. Pavel Gurikov, both very well known in the aerogel field, this 6th International Seminar on Aerogels attracted researchers and people of the industry from all over the world.

Contributions on any and all topics related to aerogels including synthesis, characterization, and applications in various fields were welcomed. This growing community is always eager to host contributions from all fields and from all over the world.

Most of the greatest and most renown people from the community were present such as Barbara Milow (DLR), Ameya Rege (DLR), Wim Malfait (Empa), Shanyu Zhao (Empa), Stephanie Vivod (Nasa), Marc Fricke (CEO and founder of Aerogel-it GmbH), Stephen Steiner (CEO and founder of Aerogel Technologies), Ann Anderson (Union College), and Mary Carroll (Union College and President of the American Chemical Society). More than 50 presentations were given and more than 60 posters were presented.
