2nd International Conference on Aerogel Inspired Materials, University of the Basque Country, Institute for Polymer Materials – San Sebastian, Spain

The conference provided an interdisciplinary forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest research results, ideas, developments, and applications in aerogels and related porous materials. Topics ranged from aerogel-related synthesis, characterisation and application researches, including research-in-progress. Particularly those with interest in the interdisciplinary themes of the meeting, early career researchers, and research students were encouraged. Interesting talks were given by Mihail Petkov (Nasa), Mary Carroll (Union College), Stephen Steiner (Aerogel Technologies), Galit Bar (Soreq), Ioanns Michaloudis (University of Cyprus), and Kazuki Nakanishi.

Steve, from Earobel, showed during his presentation the IDW-insulation system with aerogel-fiber material produced in the Carbip project.

The organizing committee members were Lidija Siller, Barabara Milow, Ameya Rege, Oihane Sanz, and Radmila Tomovska.
