Vanhout Besix – Circular Applications
Vanhout Besix ‘Circular Applications’ (C-IDW & CARBIP)
On October 10, 2023, an important meeting took place between CRH Structural Concrete Belgium (CRH SCB) and representatives from Van Hout, including Johan Bensch, Marilynn Franck, and Wim Pieters. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss CRH SCB’s circular applications and explore how these can contribute to Van Hout’s sustainability goals.
During the meeting, CRH SCB presented their innovative approaches to sustainability, with a special emphasis on CarbIP. This patented facade system by CRH improves insulation and can be fully applied in a circular manner. CarbIP was showcased as an example of how CRH SCB strives for continuous improvement and innovation in their products and processes. The system not only offers improved thermal performance but also the potential for reuse and recycling of materials, contributing to a lower environmental impact.
Additionally, other circular initiatives by CRH SCB were discussed, such as concrete mix optimization, the use of alternative binders, and the development of lightweight constructions. These initiatives aim to reduce CO2 emissions and promote sustainability in the construction sector.
The representatives from Van Hout showed great interest in the presented solutions, and a constructive dialogue emerged about potential collaborations. The meeting provided CRH SCB with the opportunity to expand their network and receive valuable feedback from the client. This interaction was highly valuable for both parties and highlighted the importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing the challenges of sustainability in the construction sector.
